This grant round aims to provide support to researchers to undertake pilot projects in any area of diabetes research. This could include access to healthcare and health inequalities, co-morbidities, research innovation or developing a new collaboration.
Where relevant and given the diverse communities served by the Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust (RFL), applications must demonstrate consideration of diversity and inclusion that are relevant to the research aims. Applicants should demonstrate how their project will generate the data to support larger future applications.
Laboratory based and translational research applications must demonstrate how the outcomes will inform future clinical research at RFL.
This scheme has a strong emphasis on mentorship and lead applicants will need to have identified a suitable mentor.
Inline with being an introductory Association of Medical Research Charities member, the funding available will only support directly incurred costs and not directly allocated or indirect costs.
Eligible costs include staff employed on the grant, research consumables, conference attendance and publication fees.
