We want to keep our neighbours up to date on our construction works. All details on upcoming construction and additional works can be found here.
Works over the next quarter
14 August 2020
Works over the next quarter include:
- the removal of the scaffolding will continue
- the roof works will be completed
- the louvres will be installed
- work to the balustrading and brickwork continues
- the internal fit-out of the laboratories and patient accommodation continues
- the commissioning of the building continues.
The path
The path in front of the Pears Building is currently closed to allow landscaping works and installation of the louvres. Once this is complete, Willmott Dixon will allow access for council workers to undertake work to refurbish the path. This will shorten the length of time that the path is closed.
Camden anticipates the work could start late October/early November and take four to six weeks – but this is just an estimate at this stage.
Closure of path
5th Aug 2020
Hampstead Hill School’s fire evacuation procedure involves mustering pupils and staff on the path. In the event of the school needing to evacuate while the path is closed, the school will inform Willmott Dixon who will immediately suspend operations and re-open the path.
The school has been provided with a comprehensive list of contacts for the construction team to set this process in motion.
Operations would remain suspended along the path until the evacuation of the school was complete and all pupils and staff had left the footpath
Tower crane removal from Pears Building site 20 & 27 June 2020

The removal of a tower crane from the Pears Building construction site will take place across the next two weekends, ie 20 and 27 June.
