Just wanted to say Happy Easter!

Hundreds of eggs arrived at Barnet Hospital last week as a local care home observed a now three-year tradition of bringing Easter cheer to patients.

Staff from Carlton Court, Cuffley Manor & Cooperscroft, all part of the TLC group, brought the eggs, which were provided by the families of the residents and were given to staff and children on Galaxy ward.

Helped by five-year-old Elena and 11-year-old Leona, the eggs were delivered to Bev Thomas, director of nursing and passed on to Galaxy Ward for staff and children. Bev also delivered 200 eggs to nursing staff on other wards.

Carla Bispham, community fundraiser for Barnet and Chase Farm Hospitals, said: “After what has been an extremely tough year it was so lovely to see lots of smiles from staff receiving the eggs. We very much look forward to next year when hopefully the staff from the care homes can hand out the eggs themselves.â€
