Trusts Manager

Fixed term contract for 12 months

Salary – £35,000 – £40,000 per annum (Pro rata for part time) – subject to skills and experience  22.5 hours a week

Base – initially home working then a mix of home/office based at the Pears Building at the Royal Free London in Hampstead.

The Royal Free Charity stands at the threshold of its most important period of development. The pandemic has shown the importance and necessity of the support the Royal Free Charity can and has provided to staff and patients across our three hospitals sites, and the need for our globally important research has also never been so clear. This is an exciting time to join, as we develop a new case for support, and fundraising appeal, which will launch our new organisational brand.

Working as part of a newly formed Philanthropic Partnerships team, the Trust Manager will play a pivotal role in developing and delivering our fundraising strategy.

We are initially recruiting a part-time 12 month fixed-term contract, although we anticipate there being opportunities in the team beyond this as we invest further in our fundraising.

We are looking for an experienced Trusts Manager who can demonstrate success building a portfolio and securing 5-figure+ donations. The postholder will need to be a highly skilled writer, who is able to proactively build relationships with new trust contacts.

A key initial priority for the postholder will be to develop a targeted and sustainable pipeline of major trust prospects (£10k+), with the support of our Prospect Research and Operations Manager, and utilising our network of connections through trustees, staff and hospital trust colleagues. Their focus will be on developing long-term relationships to deliver sustainable funding, with our Supporter Care Principles at the core of everything they do.

This role sits within a high achieving Fundraising team, divided into three departments: Philanthropic Partnerships, Individual Giving, and Community Fundraising. The trusts manager will report to the Head of Philanthropic Partnerships.
