Head of finance

Salary: c£68,000 – subject to skills and experience 

Hours of work: 37.5 hours a week over five days

Base:
Hybrid working for the foreseeable future with regular attendance to the office at least 2 -3 days a week at our office in Hampstead, north London

The Royal Free Charity is seeking an ambitious and talented head of finance to join their finance team.

The role

The head of finance will report to the director of finance, property and operations.

The finance department has been on a journey to transform the charity’s financial processes and systems. This journey continues and the head of finance will play a pivotal role in this journey.

We have a long way to go, and candidates should see this as an exciting, positive prospect. There is a great team that is committed and supportive and face the challenges shoulder to shoulder. The work ethic of the whole team is second to none.

The successful candidate will be part of the charity’s business managers group, playing a critical role in business planning and delivery. They will also hold the key relationship with the charity’s external partners, such as its bankers, investment managers, advisors and some regulatory bodies.

The team

The finance department is structured around two strands; financial control and strategic finance with the prior responsible for financial accounting, compliance, audit process management, policies, balance sheet control and taxation, the latter strand is responsible for financial planning, performance reporting, treasury management, property operations, value for money and investment appraisals.
