Help transform the Royal Free Hospital canteen

NHS staff work long hours in sometimes very difficult circumstances to care for us. Shifts are long, pressure is high and they face significant challenges every day. They deserve a space that helps them to relax and recharge.

“We work in a complex and fast-paced environment. Transforming the canteen will give staff at all levels, and across all teams and departments, a space to look after their wellbeing and build valuable connections with one another.”
Dr Ali Esmaeili, plastic surgeon, Royal Free London

This year, you could help transform the largest space in the Royal Free Hospital: the canteen. Your investment could change a tired, uninviting and stressful space into a functional, fit-for-purpose facility that promotes wellbeing for all users, whether staff or patients.

You will give frontline workers a comfortable space to take a break, to talk and to reflect.

You will support local NHS staff, who are working hard to care for your local community.

You will ensure that patients can also make use of the canteen, with an area designed around their needs.

Your support now will help futureproof this vital part of the hospital, and have an impact on staff and patients for years to come.

Donations will go towards supporting the canteen renovation at the Royal Free Hospital. In the event that we raise in excess of the outstanding funds required, surplus donations will support the wider work of the Royal Free Charity, helping patients and staff across the Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust.
